Field of Interest Funds

Field of Interest Funds allow donors to designate a specific cause or geographic area for grant making without having to name a specific organization. Grants are made through an application process administered by the Foundation and/or with a special advisory group with expertise in the field of interest.

Kansas Health Foundation Fund for Smoky Valley
This fund was established with matching dollars from the  Kansas Health Foundation’s GROW II program. It serves the same purpose of the  Smoky Valley Healthy Living Fund and promotes the health and well-being of individuals  and communities in the Smoky Valley area through encouragement of healthy lifestyles,  behaviors and environments.

Scholarship recipients announced

The Smoky Valley Community Foundation has awarded over $52,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. The Brandon Rogers Technology Scholarship is for a senior graduating from Smokey Valley High School majoring in the field of technology. Tyler O'Dell, Lindsborg, received a $2,000 scholarship. The Clyde And Glenn Lindstrom Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School or Smoky Valley Virtual Charter who are pursuing a post-secondary education in a vocational field. Community foundation awards spring grants

The Smoky Valley Community Foundation awarded $9,540 during its spring grant cycle. Projects were funded through the Smoky Valley Healthy Living Fund and Smoky Valley Community Enhancement Fund. The following organizations received funding: Lindsborg at Work Association, $1,748, to cover the insurance cost that it will incur from sponsorship of several community events. Midsummer's Festival, $1,500, for the annual Midsummer's Festival in Lindsborg. McPherson County Community Foundation, dba Circles of McPherson County, $1,500, to launch a new youth curriculum in Lindsborg, aimed at surrounding kids with caring and trained adults.
