Smoky Valley Community Foundation accepting grant applications

LINDSBORG, Kan.— The Smoky Valley Community Foundation is now accepting applications for spring grants. Online applications open Friday, February 1, and are due Monday, April 1, 2019.

Over $14,000 is available for charitable community improvement projects within the Smoky Valley area, which covers northern McPherson County and southern Saline County. Grants will be awarded from the following funds:

  • Smoky Valley Community Enhancement Fund – available for projects that address the present and future needs of the community.
  • Smoky Valley Healthy Living Fund – available for projects that promote and encourage healthy lifestyles.
  • Heritage Fund – available for projects that strengthen and promote the heritage of the Smoky Valley area.

Grants will be awarded through a competitive application process and requests up to $3,000 will be considered. Nonprofit organizations, government and public entities, educational institutions and churches are encouraged to apply. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on April 1, and grants will be awarded mid-May. Funding guidelines and the grant application are available at

During its fall grant cycle, the community foundation awarded over $23,000 to 12 Smoky Valley organizations and projects.
