Smoky Valley Community Foundation scholarships available

  The Smoky Valley Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2019-2020 school year. This year, over $57,500 is available to students in the Smoky Valley area through the foundation’s eight scholarship funds. Brandon Rogers Technology Scholarship, for graduating Smoky Valley High School seniors planning to major in the field of technology. Dr. Charles Englund Memorial Scholarship, for Bethany College juniors or seniors majoring in a medical or pre-medical field. Community foundation announces fall grant recipients

The Smoky Valley Community Foundation awarded over $23,000 to 12 area organizations during its fall grant cycle. Projects were funded through the Heritage Fund, Smoky Valley Community Enhancement Fund, Kansas Health Foundation Fund for Smoky Valley and Smoky Valley Healthy Living Fund. The following organizations received funding: Svensk Hyllningsfest, Inc., $3,000 to support marching bands participating in the 2019 Svensk Hyllningsfest Parade. Lindsborg Community Hospital, $3,000 to purchase women’s health equipment and software for the physical therapy department.
