
Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Smoky Valley Community Foundation has awarded over $82,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. The following students received scholarships:
- The Jay Steinberg Music Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School planning to major in music. Emmalee Harris, Lindsborg, KS, received this scholarship.
- The Brandon Rogers Memorial Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School. Lily Heline, McPherson, KS, received this scholarship.
- The Clyde and Glenn Lindstrom Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School or Smoky Valley Virtual Charter who are pursuing a post-secondary education in a vocational field. Josie Berggren, Katja Blanchat, Dakota Dankenbring, Julia Hawk, Nicholas Jones, Luke Moss, and Corbin Pywell, all of Lindsborg, KS; Toby Coleman, Gypsum, KS; and Trevor Kendrick, Smolan, KS, all received this scholarship. Jakorian Crain, Connor Barnes, and Matthew Krehbiel, all of Lindsborg, KS; and Raven Enslow, Little River, KS, each received a renewal scholarship.
- The Dorothy J. Ziegler Music and Art Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School who plan to major in either performing arts or visual arts. Emmalee Harris and Cael Kibler, Lindsborg, KS, received this scholarship. Henry Wright, Marquette, KS, and Nicholas Drier, Lindsborg, KS, received a renewal scholarship.
- The Louis, Ron, and Tom Westman Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School. Sophia Fruits, and Ester Clark Pavlovich, Lindsborg, KS; and Lily Heline, McPherson, KS, each received this scholarship.
- The Mona Peterson Community Service Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School, the Smoky Valley Home Educators, or the Lindsborg Area Home Educators who are involved in community service activities. Katja Blanchat, Lindsborg, KS, and Lily Heline, McPherson, KS, both of Lindsborg, KS, received this scholarship.
- The Smoky Valley Elementary Education Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School, or home-schooled graduating students living in the Smoky Valley District, who plan to major in elementary education. Jalie Nispel, Lyons, KS, received this scholarship.
