
Smoky Valley Community Foundation announce scholarship recipients
LINDSBORG, Kan.— The Smoky Valley Community Foundation has awarded over $60,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. The following students received scholarships:
- The Brandon Rogers Memorial Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School. Maggie Ryals and Caleb Gustus, both of Lindsborg, received this scholarship.
- The Clyde and Glenn Lindstrom Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School or Smoky Valley Virtual Charter who are pursuing a post-secondary education in a vocational field. Zachary Gross, Olivia Bengtson, Weston Harris, Trystan Stambaugh, Keira McMillan, MacKenzie Franklin, Kade Blanchat, Nolan Dauer, Jacob Burgardt, and Maggie Ryals, all of Lindsborg; Richard Zeller, McPherson; Logan Sauvage, Falun; and Austin Sharp, Assaria, all received this scholarship. Garret Huffman, Braiden Weis, and Grant Kearn; all of Lindsborg, each received a renewal scholarship.
- The Dorothy J. Ziegler Music and Art Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School who plan to major in either performing arts or visual arts. Noelle Peters, Lindsborg was the recipient of this scholarship.
- The Charles Englund Memorial Scholarship is for Bethany College junior or seniors majoring in a medical or pre-medical field. Kort Sjogren and Gracelyn Gaskill, both of Lindsborg, received this scholarship.
- The Louis, Ron and Tom Westman Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School. The following students were the recipients of this scholarship: Lauren Dolezal, Tytus Reed, Karson Pihl, and Noelle Peters, all of Lindsborg; and Richard Zeller,
- The Mona Peterson Community Service Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School, the Smoky Valley Home Educators or the Lindsborg Area Home Educators that are involved in community service activities. Tytus Reed and Kade Blanchat, both of Lindsborg; and Logan Sauvage, Falun, each received this scholarship.
- The Smoky Valley Elementary Education Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School, or home-schooled graduating students living in the Smoky Valley District, who plan to major in elementary education. Karson Pihl and Campbell Gaskill, both of Lindsborg were the recipients of this scholarship.
