Smoky Valley Community Foundation announces fall grant recipients
During its fall grant cycle, the Smoky Valley Community Foundation awarded over $9,000 to five projects throughout the Smoky Valley area. The following organizations received funding:
- Smoky Valley Historical Association, $3,000.00 to do an engineering study for Coronado Heights.
- Midsummer’s Festival, $2,960.00 to support various areas of the festival.
- Lindsborg Arts Council, $2,035.19 to purchase a projector, screen, and licensing for films for the Swedish Film Festival.
- Bethany College, $1,000 to support the soloist for the Messiah Festival of the Arts.
- Lindsborg Old Mill and Swedish Heritage Museum, Inc. $1,000.00 to support the Digital Access and Archiving project.
This round of grants was made possible by two funds at the community foundation: the Smoky Valley Community Enhancement Fund, which focuses on improving quality of life throughout the Smoky Valley area and the Heritage Fund which supports the work of enhancing, strengthening, and promoting the heritage of the Smoky Valley area.
