City of Lindsborg

In 2014 the City of Lindsborg recognized a need for a dog park to be utilized by patrons in the community. With unforeseen circumstances and other city needs, the budget for the park was utilized for other community projects. A dedicated committee of community members helped to make this concept a reality with their own fundraising efforts, as well as collaboration with the community foundation.

The foundation awarded a grant to the city to purchase pergolas and benches for the facility. This project allows residents to exercise their dogs off-leash in town, in a safe and secure environment. "The area is a significant addition to the City of Lindsborg park system, providing a place for many dog owners to gather and socialize," said grantee Hayley Samford.

Bethany Lutheran Church

Bethany Lutheran Church received grant funding from the community foundation to host two workshops centered around ASIST, applied suicide intervention skills and training, for the community.

McPherson County Community Foundation

Grant funds from SVCF allowed McPherson County Community Foundation to invest in STEPMC's hybrid program.

"I love STEPMC, they've done a lot for me. I can't explain it, but they're good people," said Nevin, a single father of three boys.

Lindsborg Svensk Folkdrakt

The Lindsborg Svensk Folkdrakt is a collection of Swedish Folk costumes designed by two local artists. Recently, the Lindsborg Arts Council was awarded a grant from the community foundation to produce patterns of these costumes.
