New Fund Match

Smoky Valley Community Foundation is excited to offer a New Fund Match beginning September 2026. Applications will be accepted until matching funds are depleted. Nonprofit organizations or individuals within the Smoky Valley service area are eligible to apply for the match. This is an opportunity for nonprofits, or those interested in supporting nonprofits, to start a fund through the community foundation and receive matching dollars to help that fund grow!

Types of funds eligible for the match are listed and briefly described below.

• Designated Fund: Permanent source of income for your favorite charities.
• Donor Advised Fund: Simple and flexible “charitable savings account,” decide when and where to give.
• Field of Interest Fund: Support a specific cause or geographic area.
• Organization Fund: Simple and efficient way for nonprofits to build capacity and provide long-term support for their mission.
• Scholarship Fund: Support student education.

How it works: The minimum to open most funds is $10,000. The initial $2,000 will come from you, your organization, or a collective group of individuals. Approved new funds will receive a $2,000 match from Smoky Valley Community Foundation. The full fund minimum must be met within 5 years from the date of the fund’s opening.

Interested organizations or individuals will be required to fill out an application (see link below). Applications will be reviewed and selected by the SVCF Board. Please keep in mind that not all applications are guaranteed approval. If your application is selected to receive a $2,000 match, you will be contacted about the next steps to set up your fund.
