Smoky Valley Community Foundation Announces Scholarship Recipients
LINDSBORG, Kan.— The Smoky Valley Community Foundation has awarded over $70,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. The following students received scholarships:
· The A. Jay Steinberg Music Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School planning to major in music. Henry Wright, Marquette, KS received this scholarship.
· The Brandon Rogers Memorial Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School. Tinley Scott, Roxbury, KS and Alyssa Holt, Marquette, KS received this scholarship.
· The Clyde and Glenn Lindstrom Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School or Smoky Valley Virtual Charter who are pursuing a post-secondary education in a vocational field. Jakorian Crain, Matthew Krehbiel, and Connor Barnes, all of Lindsborg, and Raven Enslow, Little River, KS, all received this scholarship. Nolan Dauer, Keira McMillan, Jacob Burgardt, and Logan Sauvage all of Lindsborg, KS; Richard Zeller, McPherson, KS, each received a renewal scholarship.
· The Dorothy J. Ziegler Music and Art Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School who plan to major in either performing arts or visual arts. Henry Wright, Marquette, KS and Nicholas Drier, Lindsborg, KS were the recipients of this scholarship. Noelle Peters, Lindsborg, KS received a renewal scholarship.
· The Dr. Charles Englund Memorial Scholarship is for Bethany College junior or seniors majoring in a medical or pre-medical field. Kort Sjogren, Lindsborg, KS received this scholarship.
· The Louis, Ron and Tom Westman Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School. Hope Duncan, Ava Broxterman, Jordyn Elseth, Alison Hipp, Breanne Peters, and Addison Ebert all of Lindsborg; Raina Decker and Adrian Hazelwood, both of McPherson, KS; and Alyssa Holt, Marquette, KS each received this scholarship.
· The Mona Peterson Community Service Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School, the Smoky Valley Home Educators or the Lindsborg Area Home Educators that are involved in community service activities. Brynna Anderson and Sawyer Lysell-Alkire both of Lindsborg, KS received this scholarship.
· The Smoky Valley Elementary Education Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Smoky Valley High School, or home-schooled graduating students living in the Smoky Valley District, who plan to major in elementary education. Christa Hedberg, Lindsborg, KS and Adrian Hazelwood, McPherson, KS were the recipients of this scholarship.
